Alert Me makes network requests only to the websites you have explicitly chosen to monitor. These requests are made directly from your browser to those sites — the same as if you visited them yourself. No intermediary servers are involved.
Alert Me does not:
Alert Me requests permission to access websites (<all_urls>) because you can choose to watch any public page. This permission is used solely to:
Content scripts are only activated when you explicitly use the picker. Background fetches occur only for URLs you have added to your watch list.
Alert Me uses your operating system's native notification API to alert you of detected changes. Notification content is generated locally from diff results and is not sent to any external service.
Data persists until you remove a watched site, clear extension storage, or uninstall the extension. You can delete individual sites and their history from the Dashboard at any time.
Alert Me does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be included in the extension package. Material changes will be noted in the extension changelog.
Questions about this policy can be directed to the extension developer via the project's GitHub repository or support channel listed on the store listing.
